I know that taking the first step to let someone in can be really challenging. Culture, identity, sexuality, transitions, one’s upbringing, etc. all have a major impact on how we trust and who we let in on that process. No matter where you are in your healing journeyI believe it’s always better going through that process with someone. This journey is not linear and may feel confusing; however, we can work together to create a meaningful healing experience full of understanding, collaboration, and compassion; you deserve that much!

I am a compassionate, creative, caring, and trustworthy therapist. Our sessions will be tailored to meet your unique treatment needs and goals. Imy five years of clinical training, I worked with clients ranging in age from young children to retired adults, and across a variety of settings. Some settings include inpatient units, college counseling centers, athletic departments, and various hospital and neurological clinics. My extensive training in various treatment techniques allows me to be creative when treating mental health concerns. Additionally, I have significant training and experience working with BIPOC individuals and Spanish-speaking clients.

I specialize in working with individuals who may be struggling with performance, anxiety and panic, life and faith transitions, sexual and gender identity, disordered eating, medical issuesdepression, and relationship concerns. I also work with clients struggling with ADHD or OCD. have experience working with clients individuallyas couples, and in families. My experience with athletes and as a professor of a course in performance psychology allows me to apply that knowledge when working with a diverse array of individuals; not only athletes but also those working in occupations that demand high levels of performance.

I am aware how difficult it can be to find a therapist who fits just right and can collaborate with you in your wellness journey. I would love to meet you for a consultation to see if we are a good fit! You’ve made it this far, don’t forget what an accomplishment that is.

Therapy Approach

I believe each person is made up of many intersecting identities that are often muted or not explored. My main forms of therapeutic treatments are from Compassionate Focus Therapy (CFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt therapy, and psychodynamic lenses.  I am also well-trained in most treatment styles relevant to individual and couple’s therapy. I also have training in CBT, DBT, ACT, and humanistic therapies. I love getting creative with my therapeutic techniques and find that healing can be interactive and fun, while also very profound and meaningful. My treatment approach is specifically tailored to your presenting concern and goals in a way that is out-of-the-box at times.

What would you say to someone who is considering therapy?

Beginning therapy can be really difficult to initiate and is not often championed. The fact that you have come this far and are looking at our page to see if we are a good fit matters and is something to be proud of. Therapy can be fun, interactive, and really meaningful. Putting yourself first is important and hopefully you feel welcomed to begin this journey and allow us to be part of it.
