I know it can be hard to ask for help, and I am glad you are considering reaching out. You may be wanting to better understand yourself, reduce your distress, resolve problems in your lives, or make a change. Your emotional well-being is incredibly important, and we can work together to help you to get through the challenges you are facing.

I am a clinical psychologist with over 30 years of experience. I have provided therapy to adults in a variety of settings including private practice, hospitals, outpatient mental health clinics, and social service organizations. I work with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, and LGBTQ+ concerns. I am also a certified eating disorder specialist and work with many clients surrounding concerns with eating or body image.

In therapy, you can expect no judgment and a space where I will strive to understand your world view. My training and experience have afforded me the opportunity to be able to use a variety of therapeutic approaches. I will always tailor and select these approaches to meet your individual needs. I view therapy as a collaborative process. We will develop a plan of action that works towards your specific goals. I look forward to working with you as you investigate and discover who you are and who you can be.

Therapy Approach

My approach to providing therapy is broad and multifaceted, drawing on extensive training and experience in a wide variety of therapeutic approaches. I believe that it is my role to do my best to understand each client and how they see the world, and then to design and implement a treatment plan to help them address their self-identified needs and goals. This process, as well as the focus, pace, and therapeutic approaches used in meeting those goals is very much a collaborative effort. I am passionate about this process and find it a great privilege to engage in it with my clients.

What would you say to someone who is considering therapy?

Deciding to pursue therapy can be difficult, but it is a courageous decision. I would encourage you to step back and consider both the issues in your life that are troubling you and whether the ways you are currently trying to address them are helping. Consider whether having an outside perspective, such as you will get from a therapist, might help you begin to resolve your problems. Remember that all aspects of you–your physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual selves–play a part in how you think, feel, and function in the world. Above all be curious and non-judgmental as you think about yourself, your decision-making processes, and your relationships with others.
